In our bodies, there are small molecules known as free radicals. These free radicals can cause damage if they accumulate to excess. ABTS free radical is a kind of free radical. But, what is abts free radical?
ABTS free radicals are generated when our bodies convert food to energy. They can also be derived from external sources, such as pollution and cigarette smoke. These free radicals are unstable and, if not neutralized by antioxidants, can damage our cells.
If there are too many ABTS free radicals travelling through our system – because there is an imbalance of pro-oxidants/PACs – it can result in what’s known as oxidative stress. This can harm our cells and raise our propensity to develop diseases like cancer, heart disease and diabetes. It can also quicken the aging process and lead to wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Fortunately our body has protection in the form of antioxidants against these free radicals generated by abts radical scavenging. Antioxidants are sort of superheros that sop up free radicals before they have the chance to do any harm. There is a large amount of them in different foods, including fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds.

And as we noted, ABTS free radicals are a major cause of aging. When those free radicals aren’t kept in check, they create damaging effects to our cells, which can result in premature aging. They can also induce inflammation and damage to our tissues, which can contribute to chronic diseases.

We need to incorporate lots of antioxidants in our food to minimize the destruction caused by abts free radical. Consuming a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins can help increase our antioxidant levels. It is essential to quit smoking and minimize pollution so that the free radicals in our body
