Bha food additive

Have you ever heard of BHA? It is a food additive. An additive is something that is added to food in order for it to keep fresh. BHA stands for butylated hydroxyanisole. It helps keep the food from rotting super fast. Some of the food you eat might actually be of that harmful variety, but you can probably see the words “butylated hydroxyanisole” on the ingredient label. But what, exactly, does bha food additive do, and is it safe for us?

The controversy surrounding bha in our food

BHA is in our food and there is concern. The FDA has labeled BHA as safe to use. But a few scientists and health experts worry about its safety. BHA may be unsafe when we eat high dosages of it over time, they say. That is why there are people who do not eat foods containing BHA to protect their health.
